In October, Margie and the Legacy Project dancers were delighted to bring Evolutions to Western Canada and the United States. The show was very well received by the public and critics alike. Let’s take a glimpse at the highlights…
“If the audience had forgotten, they were reminded: Gillis dances the feelings that we have all felt. That’s how she delivers the gut punch—by showing that she feels it herself.” – Celine Kiner, LA Dance Chronicle
“Gillis pulls the best of the post-modern into contemporary and guides us into embracing our humanity.”– Celine Kiner, LA Dance Chronicle
“The quick versus slow attacks, the breath that could be seen in the movement, the eye contact made with the audience, this was compelling to witness.” – Benn Widdey, Culture Spot LA
Our gracious thanks to the venues who hosted us: The Port Theatre and the Crimson Coast Dance (Nanaimo), Shabolt Center for the Arts (Burnaby), Kay Meek Arts Center (West Vancouver), Raymond Kabbaz Theater (Los Angeles), and to their amazing public for their warm welcome.
Evolutions will set off again next April for a Quebec tour, stay tuned!
