Margie Gillis will present her solo Bloom at the Lac-Brome Literary Festival on June 3.

With 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦, Margie Gillis draws inspiration from Molly Bloom, the iconic character from the irish writer 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐲𝐜𝐞’s novel 𝑼𝒍𝒚𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔. A major figure of modern literature, Joyce revolutionized writing through the use of 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔, a form that follows the free and intimate flow of thought.

In this same spirit of freedom, Margie approaches the body as a living language -an organic flow where sensations, emotions, and memory move without constraint. Where 𝐉𝐨𝐲𝐜𝐞 gives voice to interiority through words, Margie brings it to life through movement.

A sensitive encounter between literature and dance, where the body becomes, in turn, a stream of consciousness.
📍 As part of the festival’s opening night
