Since 1981, the Margie Gillis Dance Foundation has been dedicated to creating works that inspire, explore, and delve deeply into the essence of humanity. Your support plays a vital role in enabling us to offer accessible dance performances, establish residencies that nurture artists, and continue producing profoundly meaningful art.
Join us in celebrating creative momentum, inspiring collaborations, and Margie’s vision, which for over 40 years has invited each of us to reconnect with ourselves, nature, and our shared humanity. Today, we need your help to carry this mission forward.
We are currently dedicated to developing outreach activities in Acton Vale for 2026.
Our goal is to create a permanent space dedicated to choreographic creation in St. Mark’s Church – an environment that will bridge the professional dance sector and the local community, promoting accessibility to the art form in the region while offering an inspiring setting to foster new creations from emerging voices.
With your support, we will be able to strengthen these resources and continue offering a diverse range of FREE programs for artists and the community alike!
How far your money can go!
$50: Covers a tank of gas to transport Margie and a car full of artists to and from the Acton Vale residency space, where they can create in a nurturing and intimate environment.
$100: Makes a significant contribution towards essential resources, supplies, and equipment needed to host artists in residence and support their creative processes, including food, transportation, toiletries, property maintenance, and more.
$500: Provides substantial support for renovations and development work on the space, such as window replacement, insulation and heating, and bathroom installation, helping us offer better accommodations to our artistic community and the public.
$1200 ($100/month): Covers an artist’s salary for a full week of creation with Margie, and gives you exclusive access to the benefits of the Legacy Circle!
Any other amount: Every contribution – regardless of whether it matches the options above – is deeply appreciated and directly supports the Margie Gillis Dance Foundation and its projects.
