Since 1981, the Margie Gillis Dance Foundation has been dedicated to creating works that inspire, explore, and delve deeply into the essence of humanity. Your support plays a vital role in enabling us to offer accessible dance performances, establish residencies that nurture artists, and continue producing profoundly meaningful art.

Your donations will help fund two of the Foundation’s current projects: our artistic residency program in Acton Vale and L’Âme du Poète on tour.
The Soul of the Poet
In the fall of 2025, we had the pleasure of premiering The Soul of the Poet, an ambitious tribute to the poetry of Gilles Vigneault in all its complexity and beauty, featuring nine dancers. Your support this year will help fund the costs related to touring this work throughout Quebec and beyond.
Acton Vale Residencies
The 2025 summer edition of our artist residency program in Acton Vale was a resounding success, offered in partnership with the Montérégie Region and Desjardins Vallée Acton. The residencies provide artists with the opportunity to work in the peaceful and inspiring environment of St. Mark’s Church while fostering creative exchanges with the local community.
This program welcomed over 350 guests who gathered to attend weekly performances by six resident artists and their teams.
Thanks to your support, we will continue this program throughout 2026, enhance the resources available to artists, and expand our FREE programming in the region.
The Margie Gillis Dance Foundation is a non-profit organization and a registered charity. Tax receipts are issued to donors upon request for any donation of $20 or more.
